This page explains what Lispresso publishes, where our stories come from, and how each issue is put together.

What we publish

Lispresso is a short newsletter about AI. Every issue is emailed to subscribers and posted on news.lispresso.ai. An issue usually has four to six main stories, led by the one that matters most. Each story gets three lines: what happened, the key detail, and what it means. Then come three more headlines worth a look. On a quiet day the issue is shorter. We don't pad it.

Where stories come from

We work from a reviewed list of public sources: the publishers' own feeds, which give a headline, a link, a date and a short summary. A source joins the list only after we have checked that it works and that we may use it in the way described on this page.

Current sources: arXiv (cs.AI, cs.CL and cs.LG), Engadget, PyTorch, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Google's The Keyword (AI), Google Research, Hugging Face, Mistral AI, the GitHub blog and changelog, Cloudflare, vLLM, the Allen Institute for AI (Ai2), NIST, the US Federal Trade Commission and the EU's digital strategy site.

Our feed reader identifies itself as LispressoBot, with a link back to this site, and it follows each website's robots.txt rules.

How a story is written

  • We write every story in our own words.
  • The only words we take from a publisher are its original headline, used as the text of the link to its article.
  • Every story links to the original and names the publisher.
  • We check each sentence against the linked source and cut anything the source doesn't support.
  • A person reads and approves the exact issue, including the subject line and links, before it is sent or posted.

How we use AI

AI tools help us sort feeds and draft text. They are never a source. Every fact in an issue has to come from a linked publisher, and a person checks it before approving the issue. We don't use AI-generated images or video that could be mistaken for real events.

Money and independence

Lispresso has no sponsors, ads or affiliate links. If that changes, sponsored content will be clearly labelled, and this page will be updated first.

Mistakes

If we get something wrong, we fix it in the open. See our corrections policy for how to report an error and what happens next.
